Oakland/Richmond History Tours

Tour Dates for Spring-Summer-Fall 2026 :

Richmond :

• Spring - March 8th & March 15th

Oakland :

• Spring - March 29th, April 17th, May 15th 
• Summer - June 14th and July 10th
• Fall - TBD
• All three tours begin and end at the Emeryville Marina Sport Fishing Dock. The tours include a wide range of historical stories, narrated over the boat’s PA system, by Liam O’Donoghue. 

There are two different tour routes:

-Oakland Tour: This tour includes visits to the Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island, the Port of Oakland, Jack London Square, Brooklyn Basin, the Alameda waterfront, and the Bay Bridge.

-Richmond History Tour: This tour includes visits to Albany Bulb, Brooks Island, Richmond Harbor, Point Richmond, Red Rock Island, Point Molate and East Brother Island. Due to frequently windy conditions, this tour is not available during the summer. 

-Besides the incredible scenery, the tours consist of Liam O'Donoghue sharing a variety of stories related to the history of the Bay. The content of these stories is family-friendly, but small children who may cry or be otherwise disruptive are discouraged.
